Firefighters
Our official partnership with the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency (HFRE) is critical to our success and we want to thank them for their vital support. Thank you as well to ALL fire stations across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island who are supporting this event!
Firefighters know how important it is to take steps to safeguard lung health. When fighting fire, they must take precautions to protect themselves from harmful exposure to pollutants. Each fire they respond to exposes firefighters to a mix of toxic gases, chemicals and other substances that contribute to firefighters elevated risk of respiratory disease and cancer.
As our community heroes climb the 36-flight stairwell at Scotia Square, they will be wearing 75lbs+ of protective gear!
Come out and cheer on our community heroes!
