About Stair Heroes:
Stair Heroes is a unique, first-ever stair climb to be held in Halifax. Together we will STEP-UP for the 1 in 5 Nova Scotians living with lung disease and raise critical awareness and funds for the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
Our hero theme is based on our partnership with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Services. Our community heroes will be joining us and climbing the 18 flight stairwell in full duty gear at Scotia Square to show their support of lung health!
We encourage everyone to register and participate (registration fee of $25) and to help raise critical donations.
Our top fundraiser will win a GRAND PRIZE.
Participants can choose what category they would like to participate in; competitive or recreational and sign up as an individual or as a team. There will also be a special category for our firefighters. If you still want to support our event but cannot attend in person an honorary registration category will be available for you, simply pay the registration fee and start collecting donations. Companies and organizations can also sponsor teams of employees as an excellent team building activity!
***Both competitive and recreational waves are timed. Competitive is best suited for those climbers who are trying to hit a new personal best, want to be the fastest climber, or want to challenge themselves. The recreational wave is best suited for those of all fitness levels, whether your goal is just to finish the stair climb, or to beat your friends time.
Dress up in your team colours, wear uniforms, office T’s, or in honour of someone you know living with lung disease…. Whatever you choose, it's all about having fun.
Registration fee includes; a participation medal, swag bag, light refreshments and entertainment for the entire family. Scotia Square will be bustling with activities for the kids, music and special guests.
All participants will receive a unique URL that you can use to raise pledges easily; share to your social media, email colleagues, friends, it’s that easy! You can personalize your fundraising page with a photo and a personal story. Top fundraisers will receive prizes.
Our goal is that each participant has fun and does their absolute best to raise an average of $125 in pledges each.
